On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of chof360 leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.
Bryan Rust, RW, PIT vs. WSH (45% rostered)
Evgeni Malkin, C/LW, PIT vs. WSH (42% rostered)
Both Rust and Malkin have been activated off IR and expected to play. Rust will resume L1 duties next to Sidney Crosby, while Malkin slots back in as their 2C. This is a tough matchup, but the Pens entered the break with a 3-1-1 record and their offense will get a boost with two of their best players back in the lineup.
Marco Rossi, C, MIN at DET (41% rostered)
The Wild resumed practice with Rossi as their 1C, and Matt Boldy is expected join the team in Detroit on Rossi’s line. With Kirill Kaprizov still unavailable, the Wild are expected to lean on Rossi’s line for offense.
Adam Fantilli, C, CBJ vs. CHI (33% rostered)
Kent Johnson, C/LW/RW, CBJ vs. CHI (23% rostered)
Boone Jenner, C/LW, CBJ vs. CHI (19% rostered)
The Jackets captain is expected to make his season debut skating on L2 with Cole Sillinger and Kent Johnson, and may even see time on PP2. Jenner’s great for banger leagues with goals and hits, and also provides dual-position eligibility. His physical play might open more room for Johnson to generate offense. A matchup against the Blackhawks makes all the Jackets a very attractive streaming option.
Mason Marchment, LW, DAL at NJ (32% rostered)
Marchment scored two goals in four games upon returning from injury and the 4 Nations break afforded more time to rest up. He was a popular pickup in fantasy prior to his injury, and there’s little reason to think he won’t be able to continue this scoring pace, especially after the Stars added depth in acquiring Mikael Granlund.
Ridly Greig, C/RW, OTT vs. MTL (6% rostered)
Josh Norris has already been ruled out and Shane Pinto is still nursing an upper-body injury, meaning Greig moves up and likely slots in as the 2C behind Tim Stutzle. Look for Greig to play big minutes again – he played 20:14 against the Panthers just prior to 4 Nations – and he’s a good multi-category contributor with shots, hits and faceoff wins. He’s not usually an offensive playmaker but note Greig may play with Drake Batherson and Brady Tkachuk, who was arguably USA’s best player at 4 Nations.
